When to go for this test?
This test is an inseparable part of lipid profile test and it should be done once in 4 years for adults and once between the age of 9 and 11 for children.
Sample requirements
A certain amount of blood will be fetched from your vein, on which the test will be performed.
Test preparation
9-12 hours of fasting is required before appearing for the test, however, this is always a good decision to have a brief discussion with the pathologists about the precautions to be taken before appearing for the test.
Result interpretation
Less than 150 mg/dl is the desirable triglycerides level in adults. From new born children to the age of 9, the acceptable triglycerides level is less than 75 mg/dl.
