What is a covid neutralizing antibody test?
A Covid neutralizing antibody test is performed to determine the presence of neutralizing antibodies that fight against the deadly coronavirus. Besides, an assessment of those antibodies is also done through this test just to confirm that the antibodies will be working in future against the trespassing viruses or not. When to go for this test?
It is recommended to go for this test 30-45 days after your first vaccination is done as the test can help you understand if the antibodies of your body are responding enough to the vaccine or not. This test is hugely necessary for the purpose of monitoring the response of antibody vaccines.
A certain amount of blood sample is collected from the patient’s vein on which the test is performed.
No specific preparations are required to go for this test. However, you must have a brief consultation with the medical expert to know if any preparations are needed.
A positive test result indicates the presence of the neutralizing antibodies in your blood. Similarly, a negative test result indicates the absence of the antibodies.
